Matt’s true talent is in starting young reining horses and preparing them for the show pen. He deeply enjoys working with two year olds and is very passionate about their training. Matt believes a strong training foundation is crucial for a horse to have a successful career in reining.  If you are in the market for a well trained and well bred horse, contact Matt.

If you are considering marketing a reining prospect, give us a call!  We have a long list of customers looking for their next reiner.  We charge a 10% commission on all horses sold through Matt McDowell Reiners.

We ask for a minimum commitment of 60 days of training and charge $500 a month for training. Two lessons per month are included in the monthly training rate. Board is offered at Black Rock Ranch for $450 monthly. You may choose between an indoor stall or a covered stall with an attached run. Please visit their website to check out all of the ammenities.

We offer private lessons at $45 an hour with your own horse, preferably in training with Matt. Check with us about our weekly group lessons for discounted pricing.

Matt McDowell Reiners charge $40 a day at shows and $0.55 a mile when hauling to shows. Exhibitors are responsible for their own stall, bedding and entry fees.
